إصدار مجموعة من الميداليات التذكارية لمدينة القاهرة التاريخية في عيدها ال ١٠٥٠
في إطار الاحتفال بمرور الف وخمسون عاما على تأسيس مدينة القاهرة التاريخية وبالتعاون بين وزارة السياحة والآثار، ومصلحة الخزانة العامة وسك العملة، والقاهرة التاريخية، أصدرت مصلحة الخزانة العامة وسك العملة مجموعة من الميداليات التذكارية التي تحتفي بالقاهرة التاريخية وذلك بالمواكبة أيضا مع إختيارها عاصمة للثقافة والحضارة الإسلامية لعام 2020 .
وأوضحت ايمان زيدان مساعد وزير السياحة والآثار لتطوير المواقع الأثرية، أن الميداليات تحمل صور مجموعة من الأثار الإسلامية التي تمثل علامات حضارية فى مسيرة عمران المدينة، الجامع الأزهر وجامع الأقمر وقبة الأمام الشافعي وجامع السلطان حسن وجامع محمد علي.
كما صوّر على البعض الآخر مأذن وقباب كرمز لعمارة المدينة، بالاضافة إلى ميدالية تحمل صورة السقاء الذي حمل الماء والحياة بين أحيائها وشوارعها .
جدير بالذكر أن مدينة القاهرة التاريخية أحد أبرز المدن التراثية القديمة على مستوي العالم المسجلة على قائمة التراث العالمي فهي مدينة حية غنية بآثارها المعمارية والفنية المتلالئة الفريدة من نوعها .

A set of commemorative medals for Historical Cairo on its 1050th anniversary
To celebrate the one thousand and fifty anniversary of the founding of Historic Cairo; and in cooperation with the Public Treasury and Coinage Authority, and Historic Cairo, The Public Treasury and Coinage Authority issued a set of commemorative medals. This was done in line with choosing Historic Cairo as the capital of culture and Islamic civilization for the year 2020.
Iman Zidan, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for the Development of Archaeological Sites, explained that the medals bear pictures of a group of Islamic antiquities that represent civilized iconic landmarks in the construction of the city; like l Al-Azhar Mosque, Al-Aqmar Mosque, the Dome of Imam Al-Shafi’i, Mosque of Sultan Hassan and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali.
On others coins, the minarets and domes were depicted as a symbol of the city’s architecture, in addition to a medal bearing the image of the waterfall that carried water and life between its neighborhoods and streets.
Historic Cairo is one of the most prominent ancient heritage cities in the world and is one of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites. It is a living city rich in its unique architectural and artistic monuments.
